From September 11 to September 22, Funcom’s survival MMO will be available at a 20% discount. This promotional event marks the first sale for the game, making it the perfect time for newcomers to dive into the expansive universe of Dune.
Free Weekend with No Restrictions
In conjunction with the sale, Funcom is also hosting a free weekend from September 11 to September 15. Unlike the previous free weekend in late August, which had a 10-hour playtime cap, this event comes with zero restrictions. Players can immerse themselves in the game for as long as they wish, exploring the entirety of the map without limitations.
During this free weekend, participants can venture through diverse locations such as Hagga Basin, the Deep Desert, Harko Village, and Arrakeen City. Additionally, players can join friends on their servers, allowing for a more communal gaming experience, unlike the previous trial which restricted players to servers with other trial participants.
Progress Retention for New Players
If you enjoy your free weekend experience and decide to purchase Dune: Awakening, you’ll be pleased to know that all progress made during the free play period will be saved. This means you can seamlessly continue your adventures on Arrakis right where you left off, making the transition from a free trial to a full purchase smooth and rewarding.
Upcoming Content: Chapter 2 Update and Lost Harvest DLC
In addition to the sale and free weekend, Dune: Awakening will receive exciting new content with the upcoming Chapter 2 update and the Lost Harvest DLC, which will be released a day early on September 9. This update is free for all players who own the game, including those who participate in the free weekend.
Chapter 2 will continue the main storyline, introducing new contracts, armor, and a character re-customization tool, allowing players to change their appearance after starting the game. The Lost Harvest DLC will feature a standalone storyline and introduce a unique new vehicle, reminiscent of an imaginative design straight out of a Popular Science magazine from the 1930s.
